Timesheet invoice
For hourly work: each line is a date, what you did and how long it took. Hours can be decimals (1.25 = 1 h 15 min).

Converting minutes to decimal hours
Invoices multiply hours by a rate, so time needs to be in decimal hours. Divide minutes by 60: 15 min = 0.25, 20 min = 0.33, 30 min = 0.5, 45 min = 0.75. So 2 h 40 min is 2.67 hours.
| Minutes | Decimal | Minutes | Decimal |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 0.1 | 36 | 0.6 |
| 12 | 0.2 | 42 | 0.7 |
| 15 | 0.25 | 45 | 0.75 |
| 18 | 0.3 | 48 | 0.8 |
| 24 | 0.4 | 54 | 0.9 |
| 30 | 0.5 | 60 | 1.0 |
Say how you round in the terms (for example “billed in 15-minute increments”) so there are no surprises. Put the billing period in the Document section so the client’s approver can match it to their records.
Questions
Should I attach a timesheet to my invoice?
This template puts the timesheet on the invoice itself: each line is a dated entry. For very long periods, summarise by week and attach the detailed log.
How do I bill 1 hour 20 minutes?
Enter 1.33 hours. Minutes ÷ 60 gives the decimal.
