Delivery note template
Goes with the goods. The receiver checks the items and signs, and you keep the signed copy as proof of delivery.
Proof of delivery that holds up
Show both the quantity ordered and the quantity actually delivered: if a line is short, the note says how many are to follow. Add the order or PO number, the carrier and the number of packages. The receiver signs “Received in good condition” only after checking, and anything damaged should be written on the note before signing.
Prices are left off on purpose, so the note can travel with the goods. Bill separately with an invoice.
Questions
Is a delivery note the same as a packing slip?
They overlap. A packing slip lists what is in a parcel for the recipient; a delivery note is usually signed by the receiver as proof of delivery, common for B2B deliveries.
Should a delivery note show prices?
Usually not. It travels with the goods and may be seen by warehouse staff; prices belong on the invoice.
